Gina Merchant, PhD, MA

I help companies build human-centered products and services, where engagement leads to measurable health outcomes. I operate as an applied research scientist with 10 years of post-doctoral experience who has worked at large and small companies, from startups to global medical device organizations. My domain expertise is in cardio-metabolic health, chronic care management, physical activity, and obesity prevention., and my academic training  is in public health, statistics, experimental psychology, and behavioral design. When I left to work in industry, I brought my rigorous training with me, and quickly realized that the strength will always lie in the methods: there are very rarely bad methods, just methods misapplied to the business question at hand. I thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments, where I can support clinical experts, product leaders, UX designers, and engineers in building health technology that makes an impact.
